Massage Therapy

Allow our intuitive therapists to use a combination of massage techniques and customize a treatment designed to treat your needs.

30 minutes: $50
60 minutes: $90
90 minutes: $120
Some exceptions are noted below.

Craniosacral
We offer a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating the state of the craniosacral system. A physiological system comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that protect the brain and spinal cord.

Using soft touch, therapists release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. This is a relaxing treatment that lulls most clients into a deep sleep.

Custom Essential Oil Massage ($110/60 minutes, $140/90 minutes)
Indulge in the ancient practice of combining essential oils with massage. A personalized blend of handcrafted essential oils is created from our blending bar to correspond with your therapeutic goals and specific wellness needs. The blended oils are then integrated into the entire session through inhalation of the scents and direct absorption of the oils into the skin. Ultimately, this treatment maximizes your total wellness potential and brings the body, mind and spirit into balance.

Deep Tissue Massage
This is focused work to release knots, increase mobility and eliminate tissue adhesions. While deep tissue uses more pressure than Swedish massage, it should not be painful or uncomfortable.

Fertility Massage
This is our focused work on pelvic and hip structural, and muscular alignment, blood flow and optimal uterine alignment. Your specially-trained practitioner works with the organs of the reproductive system to decrease scarring, pelvic adhesions, blocked fallopian tubes, stagnation of blood, uterus placements and spacing in the pelvic area, and tubal obstruction, thus increasing the function of the reproductive organs. Treatments are recommended at least four times within a natural monthly cycle. This very useful aid in fertility can be used along with acupuncture and yoga to increase its effectiveness.

Hot Stone Massage ($130/75 minutes)
Heated stones are strategically placed on the body and used in a full body massage. A soothing combination of massage and aromatherapy create a relaxing experience that soothes muscles and increases circulation and well-being.

Myofascial Release
This therapy is recommended to help unbind scar tissue that forms after injuries or repetitive stress to the muscles and tissue. Light stretching and massage work along the muscles, ligaments and elastic bands that sheathe the body in order to release tension from the fibrous bands of the muscles, bones, nerves and joints.

Polarity Therapy
Polarity therapy incorporates various Eastern and Western approaches and is based on the idea that energy moves in waves of expansion and contraction in interrelated and harmonic patterns caused by the play of the opposite forces of negative and positive poles in the body. Illness occurs when these patterns are disrupted.

The therapist concerns herself with the qualities and patterns of energies that arise from each chakra of the body. She assesses the energetic balance by taking pulses and then applies hand contact on positive, neutral, and negative poles to release blocked energy currents that are causing illness. Three levels of pressure are used: a very light touch that quiets and balances the body and mind; a firmer manipulation of various parts of the body; and a deep energetic pressure to release chronic blockages. With the release of blocked energy, healing comes from within the patient and the therapist is merely a facilitator or helper, not the central curative force.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage
Our prenatal-certified therapists use special techniques to help decrease stress, aid relaxation and relieve the aches and pains that come with pregnancy. Studies have shown that lowering stress through massage benefits both the mom and baby, and offers improved pregnancy outcomes, deeper sleep and lower postnatal complications.

Raindrop Technique® Massage ($110/60 min, $140/90 min*)
This special technique combines the art of aromatherapy with Vita Flex and massage in the application of pure essential oils, along the spinal muscles. The essential oils used provide an extraordinary means of restoring balance to the body. This therapy is recommended to help reduce pain and inflammation, improve circulation, prevent bacterial and viral causes of spinal misalignment, and improve immune function. *90 minutes includes hot stones and reflexology

Reflexology
Pressure techniques and relaxing movements are applied to the hands and feet, resulting in a reflex action in the glands, organs and tissue of the body. Helping to bring more oxygen and nutrients to the body, and enhance detoxification, reflexology eliminates tension and restores energy flow.

Shiatsu Massage
Based on the principles used in Chinese medicine, your therapist uses palm, elbow and/or thumb pressure on the points and acupuncture meridians to encourage energy flow. Passive stretching is used to release tension and create greater flexibility in the body. Shiatsu is conducted on a floor mat with the client comfortably clothed.

Structural Integration ($165/90 min or $1350/10 sessions [recommended])
Structural integration taps into four elements, including structure, function, emotion and energy. The body is realigned using proven connective tissue manipulation techniques to change the density and direction of its fibers and improve our body’s movement and function. Through a series of cumulative sessions, the practitioner uses a process of creating friction and heat to manipulate and free the tissue, reversing the impacts of gravity and our daily habit patterns that lead to compression, bending and folding. At the end of the series, the body will be able to lengthen and move more freely. As a result of the process, people often appear taller and slimmer. Some actually gain anywhere from 1/4″ to over one inch in height. Feelings of discomfort or pain are often alleviated and other experienced benefits are often greater flexibility, a feeling of lightness and fluidity, better balance, increased breathing capacity, increased energy and greater self-confidence. The sensation during treatment can vary from one similar to deep tissue massage to an intense burn of muscular exhaustion.

Note: consideration should be made by people who bruise easily and preliminary questions can be answered by our structural integration specialist, Patty Huggins by contacting The Still Point.

Swedish Massage
Swedish strokes are lighter in pressure than deep tissue and are intended to affect entire body systems, rather than specific areas. Your therapist uses a variety of strokes to improve circulation and relax the body and mind.

Thai Massage
A popular treatment in the East, Thai massage uses palm, elbow and thumb pressure to activate energy, as well as passive stretching movements to create profound relaxation, detoxification and stimulation of internal organs, increased flexibility and balanced flow of energy. Thai Massage is performed on a floor mat with the client comfortably clothed.

TMJ Relief
This session is designed to help release and relieve the discomfort associated with TMJ disorder by using Neuromuscular Therapy, CranioSacral Therapy, and some specific clinical work in conjunction with basic Swedish and deep tissue techniques.  In the 60-minute session, time is spent on related areas to help bring about a more full and long-lasting release in the temporomandibular area.
