As an Acupuncturist, I am trained to work with the energy, or Life Force, in your body. This Life Force manifests within the body and expresses itself as an energetic field that surrounds the body. When in the West we say, “a person has a big presence about them,” we are actually referring to this energetic field.
Scientists who study energy focus on its frequency or vibrational qualities. In fact, every thing we see, taste, touch, smell, and hear vibrates. When two things come together, they naturally vibrate in harmony (resonate) or clash producing disharmony and/or confusion within the system (dissonance). Harmony creates strength. Disharmony creates fragmentation and weakness. Therefore, when something is placed in your body’s energetic field its vibration either makes your body strong or weak.
Most of us don’t see or feel this subtle energetic response, but it is nevertheless present. We can get a read-out of the body’s response by using muscle response testing (MRT). MRT is a noninvasive way of evaluating the body’s imbalances and assessing its needs.
In a typical example of muscle testing, you’re given an herb to hold in front of your chest. You extend the other arm and are asked to keep it straight. The practitioner presses down on the straightened arm. If the herb resonates with you, then it will make your energetic system strong. Consequently, you’ll be able to resist the practitioner’s downward pressure and hold your arm rigid. If the herb is not something you need, it will weaken the energetic system and the muscle response test will result in the arm going down which we say represents a weak response.
Just like herbs, thoughts are energy, too. Either a spoken or unspoken thought placed in your energetic filed will generate a resonant or dissonant response. As with the herbs placed in front of the chest, the body’s response can be observed through MRT. So the practitioner can intentionally place in your field a word or thought and immediately get a response from your body.
To stimulate our thoughts and act as a “place holder” we use a large database and specially designed software to facilitate the inquiry process. This tool gives enormous flexibility and range to the process, allowing us to test a large number of things in a very short period of time. In fact, during our 2 hour Comprehensive Energetic Evaluation we typically ask the body more than 1,000 questions to find out what is functioning well and what is not. With the mindset of a detective, we look for the relationship between symptoms, function, external stressors (pollen, foods), internal stressors (bacteria, yeast), and herbs or natural supplements. This allows us to discover what is really going on and what may be blocking your healing.
What sorts of issues or questions lend themselves to muscle testing. Here are just a few.
* You have been trying to get pregnant without success. Medical tests show everything is normal, but obviously, something is not working. Using muscle testing to query your body, it is possible to pinpoint exactly what may be blocking conception.
* You want to lose weight. You have been successful in losing weight in the past but the old tricks aren’t working now. Using muscle testing, we can determine what physical and emotional issues are blocking your success. Additionally, we can muscle test hundreds of foods and determine which ones make you strong and which ones make you weak. If you eat only the foods that make you strong, and we treat both the physical and emotional blocks to weight loss, we would expect that you will succeed in making your weight loss goal.
* You have low energy and getting more sleep doesn’t really help. Muscle testing can determine what is putting a drag on your energy and pin point a fix.
Looking forward to cracking your health “mystery.”
