Last Saturday, I conducted a workshop on how to create your own horoscope. The workshop turned out to be a huge success, and I met some amazing women who left this class armed with the necessary tools for interpreting the cosmic energy above. Among this group was a fiery red head (and Aries Sun) who knew a great deal about Astrology. In fact, one of the first things she commented on as we introduced ourselves, was that there was a lot of planetary activity taking place in the Universe these days. She was right.
Remember that old adage “as it is above, so it is below?” These words have never so fittingly described the present time here on Mother Earth. Heavyweight planets Uranus (which represents rebellion and revolution in Astrology) and Pluto (which represents structure, power and transformation) are exchanging fightin’ words in the sky. These two planets are currently forming a very tense 90 degree angle, which is descriptive of planets that seem to be butting heads. This angle has been in formation since 2008, and will become exact at 90 degrees during the summer of infamous 2012.
If you think of what these planets represent, as mentioned above, not only can you conclude why there is tension, but you can see it playing out all around us. The Arab Spring, the financial crisis in the U.S., natural disasters and other Armageddon-like phenomena, seem to be occurring with alarming frequency. What’s more is that these changes are not just taking place in the world at large; they are also happening on an individual level in our everyday lives. I’ve over heard a number of people ask “what the heck is going on?” and the answers can be found in the stars.
Recently, many of us have experienced some kind of jolt or shake up (Uranus) to the stability and normalcy of what our lives used to be (Pluto). While it may be difficult to understand ‘why,’ it’s actually quite obvious. This is the Universe’s way of reminding us why we are here – of our soul’s purpose. We are being told that we’ve gotten off track, and that we have somehow moved away from those things that make us authentic as individuals. The Universe is attempting to bring us back to our true and destined selves, using a tough love approach since we haven’t been paying attention to its warning signs.
None of us like change. Yet we all know that change can be such a liberating experience once we’ve pulverized the obstacles that stand in our way. Of course, we will always deal with such blocks. But they, too, will always pass. Overcoming our fears allows us to live life in a way that is meaningful and fulfilling. While the protesters in New York occupy Wall Street, I say that we occupy our lives with those things that bring us pure pleasure and joy. Getting back to the basics of our true paths will most certainly be challenging at first, but most definitely well worth the journey along the way.
My next workshop, “Create Your Own Horoscope,” is scheduled for Saturday, November 12th at The Still Point Mind + Spirit Center. You can register at stillpointmindandbody.com.
